4. Dehydration
Dehydration is one of the biggest causes of high blood viscosity. Like everything in our bodies, blood is made from what we put into it – meaning the nutrients in our diet and meaning the liquid from our food and drink as well.
If you don’t drink enough water or other fluid, then this will mean there is less fluid to dilute the blood and that in turn can cause it to become thicker and more difficult to move around the body.
Other symptoms of dehydration include halitosis, headaches, muscle cramps, constipation, and a dry feeling in the mouth. The shocking part? MOST Americans are chronically dehydrated, simply because they do not drink enough water. Try to get into the habit of drinking at least seven glasses of water a day.
