Soreness after a workout or a sudden stiffness in the muscles can be uncomfortable and interfere with your day. Getting a massage or using the sauna can bring relief for a period of time, but taking ginger in powder form, tea, or food can reduce the discomfort of muscle pain.
A study showed that those who took 2 grams of ginger over a period of at least 10 days reported a 25% reduction in muscle pain. Ginger works well for chronic muscle aches as well as the occasional pulling of a muscle which can lead to discomfort for days afterward.
Athletes who engage in regular exercise or anyone who likes to go to the gym and lift weights can benefit from having some ginger powder handy to ease the pain of a pulled muscle. The effects may not be felt immediately, but after a day or so, it should work.
