3. Bok Choy
Bok choy is filled with all kinds of beneficial nutrients and vitamins and is another fantastic superfood – though it isn’t quite as trendy as kale or avocado are at the moment.
One cup of bok choy, which can also go by the name ‘Chinese cabbage’, will only contain a measly 9 calories meaning that you can eat plenty without worrying about weight gain. On top of that, bok choy is once again packed with vitamin A, vitamin C and potassium. Potassium is excellent for improving your electrolyte balance and can prevent overhydration, cramp and a range of other problems. It’s particularly useful on hot days, or after a workout.
Bok choy also contains plenty of calcium. More specifically, it will give you 74 milligrams of calcium for a single cup.
Bok choy isn’t the tastiest or the most exciting on its own, but it cooks quickly and it goes great in stir fries as a result.
