4. Rash
The main symptom of vaginal yeast infection however is the appearance of a rash. This can have a number of different causes of course though: a rash in this area might point to an STI for instance. Therefore, it is useful again to look for other symptoms as well as to examine the nature of the rash itself.
A rash caused by vaginal yeast infection will often cause swelling, cracking, and redness. It also often leads to peeling around the area.
Another useful clue is if the rash seems to spread from you to your partner. While men don’t get yeast infections in the same way, they can actually ‘catch’ the rash from their partners. If you have a rash that fits the description and this spreads to your partner, it might be a clue that it is a vaginal infection. Note that despite this fact, it is still not considered to be an STI.
