4. Reduces Radiation
There are an awful lot of potentially harmful things in our environment and many of these things are the result of our modern way of life. Of course, smoke and contaminants like that simply wouldn’t have been an issue if we were to roll back the clocks a few decades!
And one of the newest potential threats to our health is that of electromagnetic radiation (em). This radiation is emitted by electronic devices such as computers, phones, televisions, etc. At this point, the long-term effects of this radiation are not known, but it is suspected that it may contribute to a range of conditions including chronic fatigue, increased stress, and weakened immunity. This is sometimes referred to as ‘electro-smog’, which certainly sounds like something sinister from a cyberpunk novel.
It’s also not fully known to what extent a salt lamp may be able to combat this effect. What we do know of course is that the negative ions that are released by salt lamps can help to counteract the positive ions that make up the radiation. Thus, it may be possible that these lamps can help to improve the situation just a little – especially if placed in a bedroom or in an office where you spend a lot of time around technology.
Now, of course, this isn’t going to completely solve the problem. For one, you will still be carrying your smartphone around with you everywhere. At the same time, it would take wrapping yourself in a sheet of lead to completely protect yourself from this effect.
Still, if it makes even a small bit of potential difference, then it’s worth giving it a go!
