3. Vinegar
Vinegar is the next remedy the will discuss. This is a popular home remedy that is been around for a long time. Although it is not 100% proven, most experts believe that the reason the vinegar works so well has to do with the presence of acetic acid. Whatever the reason, most people who have used it have lauded its effectiveness.
The way that you use vinegar to remove lice is by mixing it with mineral oil – half mineral oil and half vinegar – and then applying it to the scalp and leaving it on that scalp overnight. You want to do this three times a week and then do a manual inspection to find out if the lice have been eliminated. Of course, this may not get rid of the nits completely, although it should, so you may want to do the heat treatment after you rinse out the vinegar and mineral oil.
