3. Feeling of Fullness
Those who have a hiatal hernia or an umbilical hernia may have a feeling of being bloated, full, or simply uncomfortable throughout their gut. An umbilical hernia is a hernia that develops in the intestine and protrudes through an opening in the layer of abdominal muscles. This type of hernia is most common in infants to three-year-olds who are born with weak abdominal or organ tissues. However, adults can develop umbilical hernias as well.
A hiatal hernia is caused by sacs located in the stomach that will force the tissue up through the diaphragm opening. A small hiatal hernia is typically not an issue. However, a larger hiatal hernia can cause acid and food to back up into the esophagus. This can cause many different issues that will need to be dealt with in addition to a lot of pain if it is not taken care of.
