3. Enlarged Prostate
The prostate is a gland located under the bladder and at the top of the urethra. At times, the prostate gland can become enlarged, which may cause blood to appear in the urine. While an enlarged prostate may seem like it is a cause for concern on its own, there are actually several innocuous causes of the prostate is enlarged. The most common cause of an enlarged prostate is Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia can cause many symptoms including blood in the urine. However, it is not typically harmful. However, if the prostate becomes too enlarged it can either partially or fully block the urethra. This can cause some issues with urination, such as difficulty urinating, or increasing the need to urinate more often. It is important to have your prostate examined regularly to help avoid potential health issues.
