4. Upper Right Pain
While most people who have appendicitis experience pain that starts in their belly button and moves down to their lower right side, if you are pregnant the pain may be a bit different. When a woman is pregnant the appendix can move upward.
This is to make room for the womb and the fetus. This means that if a pregnant woman develops appendicitis, the pain may be located on the upper right-hand side of her abdomen instead of on the lower right-hand side.
If you are pregnant and you experience any type of pain in the abdominal area it is important to make sure that you see a doctor right away. The longer that you wait to visit your doctor, the greater the chance that a complication may occur.
Since a ruptured appendix can cause infections and other complications in the body, it is important to make sure that you tell your doctor so that the problem can be rectified.
