2. Swallow Three Times
Another trick you can use is to quickly swallow three times in a row. This is actually surprisingly difficult to do and that’s the whole point: it requires you to take control of your breathing and your diaphragm in order to complete the task successfully and this can be enough in many cases to bring an end to the hiccups.
The great thing about this trick is that it is something you can do anywhere and without needing to create a scene… which is not something that you can say about a technique like getting someone to jump out and scare you, or standing on your head!
Unfortunately, what I have noticed when trying this one is that it seems to become less effective the more often you do it.
