2. You’re overly tired
If you constantly feel like you are tired and just run down, no matter how much sleep you get, it could be a sign that you are suffering from an issue with your thyroid. The thyroid gland produces hormones that help to “awaken” your muscles and signal them to get moving. If your thyroid isn’t producing enough hormones (it’s underactive), there’s a good chance you could end up feeling chronically fatigued. In fact, excessive tiredness is the top symptom of hypothyroidism.
Of course, there are other conditions that can cause fatigue, such as mono, anemia, fibromyalgia, and even common infections, such as the cold or flu; however, if you are feeling really run down after waking up from a full night of uninterrupted sleep, you should make sure you schedule an appointment with your doctor to have your thyroid examined, as it could be the problem.
