3. Lying on the Floor
Another similar trick to reset the information coming from your sensory systems is simply to lie flat on the floor. Now gravity will act purely in that direction, and you will be getting feedback from the floor against your head.
It can also help to close your eyes, or to fixate on a point on the ceiling. At the very least, lying in this position can help to avoid a fall during a severe bout of vertigo and it can also help you to rest and calm down during what can be an unpleasant and frightening experience even. Then just get up and vertigo! (Sorry!)
