21 Home Remedies to Help You Quickly Heal Canker Sores

New Articles: Wellness March 6, 2018

Canker sores are ulcers that are usually small, but they can cause a significant amount of pain. They are small ulcers that usually develop within the mouth, usually along the insides of the cheeks or lips. These tiny sores can make eating, drinking, and talking very uncomfortable, as they can cause a great deal of pain. Moreover, foods that have a high acid content can aggravate a canker sore, causing even more pain.

There are two types of canker sores:

– The simple canker sore, which tends to impact people who are between 10 and 20 years of age. These sores can occur several times a year, and when they do appear, they can last for up to a week.

– The complex canker sore, which is larger and more painful than the simple canker sore.

If you want fast relief from a canker sore, try one of these home remedies.

1. Give baking soda a try

Baking soda is commonly used in kitchens, but it can also provide fast relief for a painful canker sore. That’s because baking soda is alkaline, so it can actually help to neutralize acids in your mouth that irritate a canker sore and make them feel more painful.

Plus, baking soda can help to kill off the bacteria in your mouth that might prevent the sore from healing, thereby reducing the amount of time it takes for the sore to heal on its own. If you are going to use baking soda to treat a canker sore, try this solution: Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda into ½ cup of warm water. Rinse the solution throughout your mouth, concentrating on the area where the canker sore is present. You can also try making a paste with baking soda and apply it directly to the sore.
