New Articles: Wellness March 13, 2018

Constipation can be tough to deal with, and some people even have chronic constipation. Difficulty passing your stool can lead to a number of other digestive disorders, including anal fissure, hemorrhoids, and diverticulitis. Constipation can be caused or exacerbated by a low-fiber diet. Too many processed foods can also cause constipation. When your bowel movements are difficult to make, or they happen less often, you have constipation.

Everyone has it at some point throughout his or her life. The symptoms of constipation include few or infrequent bowel movements, hardened or small feces, bloating, and a feeling that not everything came out. Not eating enough fiber is one of the biggest causes of constipation, but changes to what you eat or your activity levels, consuming too many dairy products, using too many laxatives, and stress can all lead to constipation. Let’s look at 21 home remedies that quickly relieve constipation.

1. Olive Oil

Oil does more than just keeping cars running. Adding pure olive oil to your diet does not only provide a healthy fat that is tasty, but it can help to relieve constipation. When you take the time to consider the texture and consistency of olive oil, it is easy to see why it is on the list for helping ease your constipation troubles. Olive oil helps to stimulate the digestive system, which will in turn get things moving in your colon.

Taken regularly, olive oil can help to prevent constipation. If you are suffering from constipation try mixing a tbs of olive oil with a tsp of lemon juice. Take this each morning before you eat or drink anything else. You can also take it during the day, but make sure you wait until a few hours after you have eaten because it works best on an empty stomach.
