For those that suffer from constipation, blackstrap molasses can be your best friend. Blackstrap molasses works well at alleviating constipation because of the way that it is made. It is different than regular molasses as regular molasses is simply boiled once to create a crystallization of the sugar. Blackstrap molasses is boiled three times, which creates more vitamins and minerals. One of these minerals is magnesium, which is important for helping with constipation.
Blackstrap molasses are natural and tasty. To use it for constipation start by using a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses. You can put it in some warm water or tea if you desire as the taste of black molasses is not for everyone. If you discover that the teaspoon is not effective, you can try more, up to one or two tablespoons. However, it is best to start with the least amount and work up as needed.
