3. Apples
Everyone knows the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away. However, when you are trying to reduce the number of carbs that you eat per day, you need to leave apples out of your diet. On average, a small apple contains at least 21 grams of carbs. Four of these come from fiber.
If you are trying to lose weight or if you are diabetic and need to watch the number of carbs that you eat, make sure that apples are not a part of your regular diet. A single apple can use up a quarter of your recommended number of carbs for the day. While apples are filling and a better choice than a piece of bread, they still have a high amount of carbs and should be avoided, especially if you are just starting out on a low carb diet.
