4. Poor Mobility
B12 deficiency may not only make you more tired but could also lead to permanent changes in mobility that make it hard to move around. This is due to the important role that B12 has in the nervous system. Your nervous system is of course the network of nerves throughout your brain, spine, and skeletomuscular system. When these signals get disrupted, it can scramble the signals that you send from your motor cortex to your limbs across the neuromuscular junction.
The result is that it can lead to changes in mobility and coordination and could cause you to fall.
This symptom is common in the elderly and can often lead to a general decline in mobility and ability. First, it leads to poor movement and this then leads to accidents and falls. Ultimately, the patients stop moving around as much and this causes the wasting of muscles and overcompensation in certain areas of the body.
