28. Honey
When you are on a low carb diet, chances are that you are going to crave sweeteners, especially when you first start out. Many people mistakenly think that honey is a good choice to add to their low carb diet. However, just one tablespoon of honey has a whopping 17 grams of carbs. For this reason, it is best to avoid using honey when you are on a low carb diet.
However, if you simply need a boost of something sweet and want to use honey in your diet because of some of the benefits that it offers, make sure that you purchase raw, organic honey. This is different than what you purchase from the grocery store. Most processed honey does not provide any nutrients and often times has sugar added to it, which increases the number of carbs.
