2. Highly itchy eyes
Another common symptom associated with pink eye is itchy eyes. The amount of itchiness can vary from person to person. For some, the itching may be mild, but for others, it can be intense. In the early stages, itching in the eye may be slight and you might confuse it with being exposed to something, such as irritating. However, the longer the pink eye is left untreated, the worse the itching can become.
Since conjunctivitis irritates the eye itself, it’s natural that this condition will lead to itching. Itchy eyes can be associated with various other conditions, such as an irritant, such as dust, or dirt, but if you are experiencing any other symptom stated on this list, you could very well be suffering from pink eye. If your eyes are itching, make sure that you avoid rubbing them to avoid spreading the condition.
