7. Spinosad
Spinosad is an interesting entry on this list. What is really unique about this remedy is that it is a natural insecticide that is made from a bacteria found in soil. It is one of the most recent lice remedies out there. In fact, it was only approved in 2011.
You do have to be careful when using this because this is a really strong remedy and it should never be used on children four years of age or younger. In fact, it is a prescription-only product that you can get from your doctor.
However, it may be the most effective prescription product available when it comes to killing lice. It is almost twice as effective as the Pyrethrin-based products previously described. The instructions are on the label, but basically, you apply it to the scalp and let it sit for ten minutes and then wash it off.
