4. Hair Loss
When it comes to the unpleasant side effects of ringworm, there are many. Perhaps one of the worst is that it can actually cause you to lose your hair. While this is not a symptom that everyone experiences, it is worth noting as it can be a side effect of this condition. Most often, this symptom occurs when the ringworm is affecting the scalp. It can be difficult to notice a rash on your head as your hair will cover most of it.
If ringworm has infected your head, you may notice that your head is itchy. If you move your hair over you may notice that there is a red rash on your scalp. When ringworm affects the scalp it can cause the skin on the head to begin to flake away. When this symptom occurs, it may also cause your hair to start falling out.
