6. Pain
Most of the time pain is not associated with having a stroke. However, if you are experiencing pain in your arms, legs, or on one side of your face or in your chest it is important to not brush it off. Any type of pain in any area of your body is not typical and should be checked out by a medical professional as soon as possible. This is the best way to figure out what is going on in your body and to make sure that it is not something serious such as a stroke or a heart attack.
It has been found that women will often experience more non-traditional symptoms of a stroke more than men. The most common non-traditional symptom that women experience during a stroke is a pain in the arm or leg or throughout the chest area.
