29. Maple Syrup
Pure maple syrup is made out of evaporated sap from the maple tree. The USDA database states that pure maple syrup has a high amount of zinc and magnesium, which can help to maintain your immune system. It also has a lot of calcium and contains vitamin A and many B vitamins as well.
However, maple syrup also has a high amount of carbs. There are nearly 14 grams of carbs in a single tablespoon. While this amount is lower than honey and some other sweeteners that are available, it is still best to avoid eating maple syrup if you are trying to stick to a low carb diet. Other alternative sweeteners are available and they have a much lower carb count. However, if you simply need a way to sweeten something, a small amount of pure maple syrup is not a horrible choice.
