6. Fever
At times, appendicitis can cause a person to experience symptoms of an infection. There are two main reasons for this. The first is that the appendicitis was caused by an infection that has led to pain and swelling. The other reason is that appendicitis can actually cause infections. The reason for this is because when the appendix becomes enlarged it can cause bacteria to build up. This makes it more likely that an infection will develop.
Most of the time a fever is not something to worry about as long as your temperature does not go too high. Fevers are the body’s way of fighting off viruses and bacteria as the warmer body temperature will make the environment of your body less hospitable.
However, if you are running a low-grade fever and also have some of the other symptoms on this list, it is a good idea to get checked out by your doctor to determine the cause.
