5. Vomiting up blood
As if persistent vomiting isn’t bad enough, it can be made even worse when you find that there is blood in it. The sight of blood in your throw up can certainly be horrifying and is a big cause for concern. Bloody vomit usually occurs when an ulcer is severe and at a more advanced stage. It can happen when the stomach acids have eroded through the lining of the stomach so severely that they are actually making your stomach raw.
Vomit in the blood may have a pink or red hue to it. You might also find tiny speckles of red or pink throughout the vomit. No matter how it appears, if you suspect you have blood in your vomit make sure that you schedule an appointment to see your doctor right away. Blood vomit is considered a medical emergency and it requires prompt treatment.
