6. Rash
Another common symptom among teenagers and young adults is a visible rash. This won’t always be present but when it does, it can be one of the most apparent and easy-to-spot symptoms.
A mono rash will appear slightly pink and pimpled, in a similar way to the rash that is associated with measles.
This rash tends to cover the entire torso, as well as the arms and is often quite dense in patches.
In other cases though, the rash can present completely differently and only be present in smaller patches around the body. And of course, then there’s the chance that you can get mono with no rash at all – at any age. Don’t think that just because you don’t have a rash, you don’t have mono!
What you’re probably noticing at this point is that there are a ton of different symptoms, many of which will only appear for certain people or may not appear at all. This makes the condition really rather tricky to spot!
