4. Bruising
When the blood vessels under the skin become damaged, a bruise can develop. This is a normal part of the body injury process and something that we are all familiar with. When you get a specific injury, you often end up with a bruise. So, how do you know when bruising is normal and when it is caused by leukemia?
The truth is, you may not know absolutely, but if you develop leukemia anywhere in adulthood, you are already going to be familiar with your body’s bruising process. You probably bruise rarely unless you are in some sort of dangerous occupation where you get injured regularly.
But if you are going about your daily life and you notice that you have bruises constantly, then you definitely need to talk to your doctor because this could be a sign of leukemia. Leukemia bruises cannot be differentiated visually from regular bruises, but the fact that they happen more often is a warning sign.
